Acupressure for Emotional Healing
Michael Reed Gach, Ph.D.
Learn how Acupressure for Emotional Healing uses points, breathing, and somatic skills to focus deep within the body, allowing what is blocked to surface, be expressed and release. When this cycle is incomplete (which often occurs in the best bodywork or talk therapies) the client becomes disoriented, gets stuck or continues their self-abusive patterns. As acupressure points open, healing energy increases awareness, awakens the roots of emotional problems, and facilitates long lasting healing. Michael Reed Gach, author of Acupressure's Potent Points, is an excellent, inspiring teacher who combines a friendly, warm, accessible teaching style with precise technical skill. Through his twenty-five years of experience, his groundbreaking self-treatment techniques have brought pain relief and healing to thousands of people.

Shiatsu for the Massage Table
Diego Sanchez, Dipl. A.B.T. NCCAOM, C.P. AOBTA, L.M.T. (NYState)
Asian Bodywork is being practiced more and more beyond the boundaries of a futon. This workshop is based around the experience of finding a new "center" other than the Hara, to comfortably apply the traditional principles of touch in an upright, standing position or any other position that the situation demands. These techniques are useful for any type of bodywork and any setting. It will be especially useful for those working on hospital beds, office chairs, SPA’s, home calls, etc. Diego Sanchez was formerly on the integrative medicine team of the renowned surgeon Dr. Mehmet Oz of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. He’s written the chapter on “Energy Based Bodywork Therapies” for Susan G. Salvo’s latest edition of Massage Therapy Principles and Practice book and directed the documentary “The Human Potential”, based on Pauline Sasaki’s teaching materials. He teaches regularly in Europe and has a private practice in New York City (www.sohoshiatsu.com) and in Uruguay. To register: http://www.swedishce.com/product_info.php?products_id=319

Alignment for Effective Touch
Diego Sanchez, Dipl. A.B.T. NCCAOM, C.P. AOBTA, L.M.T. (NY State)
Alignment for Effective Touch Correct postural alignment allows the bodyworker a mechanically efficient technique, but more importantly it increases his or her energy flow. Being aware of this energetic process greatly enhances the quality of touch and helps to reduce the therapist's physical effort. Each student will have practical, hands-on and individual instruction. The style of each practitioner will be respected and the teachings are applicable if working on the floor or on a massage table. To register: http://www.swedishce.com/product_info.php?products_id=321

Windows of the Sky
Deborah Valentine Smith, AOBTA(R)-CI, Sr. Teacher, Jin Shin Do(R) Bodymind Acupressure(TM)
(The Acupressure Facial), INTRODUCTORY CLASS Learn a simple technique to stimulate the acupressure points of the face, head, neck and shoulders for yourself or for clients. On the physical level, these points release muscle tension and increase circulation to the skin and scalp, much like a typical facial treatment, but without the need for creams and lotions. In addition, people often find relief from headaches, eyestrain, sinus problems, and neck and shoulder problems. On an energetic level, the points are said to open the “Windows of the Sky” to the circulation of Heaven (air) and Earth (food essence) energies, reestablishing the balance of essential life force, or Qi, throughout the whole body. This is experienced as a whole body sense of physical ease and harmony. Developed originally by Iona Marsaa Teeguarden (founder of Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure™) for beauticians (it uses only points on the face, head, neck, arms and hands), the twelve easy steps can also be used by “civilians” for self-care and it is adored by professional body workers.. Anatomy & Physiology for Asian Bodywork Therapy
Deborah Valentine Smith, AOBTA(R)-CI, Sr. Teacher, Jin Shin Do(R) Bodymind Acupressure(TM)
This course illustrates how the discoveries of western science validate Chinese medicine. It is a great introduction to Chinese medicine for western-style practitioners and a foundation in western science for eastern-style practitioners. This course satisfies the requirement of 100 hours of A&P for the AOBTA. It also has been reviewed by the NCCAOM and will be accepted for PDA's (Professional Development Activities) for diplomates. We are also working on the application for the American Holistic Nurses Association and the NCBTMB to make this course accepted for PDAs for those organizations the next time it is offered.
