Professional Membership Options

 

Certified Practitioner

The AOBTA®-CP menbership is awarded to those applicants who have successfully completed the training outlined in the AOBTA® 500 Hour Curriculum.

The AOBTA®-CP member is a professional, voting member of the organization.

Registered Instructor

The AOBTA®-RI membership is awarded to the qualifying ABT instructor that has a minimum of 150 hours of teaching over a minimum 2-year period.

A Registered Instructor must first be a Certified Practitioner.

The AOBTA®-RI is a professional, voting member of the organization.

Certified Instructor

The AOBTA®-CI membership is reserved for the highly experienced and skilled instructor that is able to teach all aspects of the Chinese Medical theory and ABT Form requirements of an ABT program.

A Certified Instructor must first be a Certified Practitioner.

The AOBTA®-CI is a professional, voting member of the organization.

COSP (Council of Schools and Programs)

The AOBTA®-COSP membership is awarded to those schools and programs that teach an Asian Bodywork Therapy program that meets or exceeds the AOBTA® educational standards.

Non-Professional Membership Options

 

Student

Student membership is for the individual pursuing a course of study in Asian Bodywork Therapy or Chinese Medicine.

A Student member is a non-professional, non-voting member of the organization.

 

Allied

Allied membership is for the health care professional (bodyworker, massage therapist, acupuncturist, herbalist, chiropractor, etc.) that has successfully completed at least 30 hours of ABT education. 

An Allied member is a non-professional, non-voting member of the organization.

Associate

Associate membership is awarded to the applicant that has successfully completed the AOBTA® 150 Hour Curriculum.

An Associate member is a non-professional, voting member of the organization.

 
Retired

Retired membership is reserved for any professional-level member of the organization (CP, RI, or CI) who is no longer in practice.

The Retired member is a non-professional, voting member of the organization.

A Retired member may reinstate their professional level of membership at any time.

 
Supporting

Supporting membership is for the individual that graciously supports AOBTA® and the ABT profession by making an annual donation.

The Supporting member is a non-professional, non-voting member of the organization.
